HARDLY WORKIN'

MY STORY

I moved to Seattle, WA in 2012 and eventually bought a fixer upper that I am still working on today. Our family has grown with the addition of our two adorable daughters and friendly corgi. My dog, Burton, is the main character of any situation and he loves to assist in my creative process by sleeping at my feet as I design. When I am not indulging myself in creativity, I love traveling, trying new places to eat, playing around with my camera, baking, and hanging out with friends.

MY SKILLS

I love the challenge of making even a stock, promotional product feel elevated and special through design. I have fun using the power of layout and hierarchy with an added element of surprise and delight to create a rich and engaging experience. I work collaboratively with account teams for events, brand awareness, unboxing experiences, and merchandise. Clients trust me with creating event branding that fits seamlessly into their existing identity systems. Though my work has been primarily in print, I took initiative in expanding my working knowledge with web languages and becoming familiar with popular templating websites. I like to play with photography, though my skills are more of a hobbyist. However, I have worked with professional photographers to capture case study photos, social media snapshots and retail-ready images to be uploaded to e-commerce sites. I create shot lists for photographers, work with models, and manage the flow on-set throughout the shoot.

MY EXPERIENCE

I’m a Seattle-based graphic designer with 7+ years of experience. Much of my work has been in print design, which has taught me to embrace tight timelines, attention to detail, and organization. I love print and product, but I have found new passion in working with UX, web developers and working with photographers on-site. Outside of work, my creative outlets involve playing with my camera, composing photo collages, and working on my craft in the baking realm. I feel confident in leading projects from start to finish, but I also enjoy working collaboratively with a team.

MY COMMUNITY

I am very excited about the people I've gotten to meet and work with throughout my design career. While in school, I was the Common Ground Design Club (CG:UX) President and the Graphic Design Representative on the student council.  I love donating my services to non-profit organizations when the opportunity is right. A few non-profits I've worked with include: ROOTS Young Adult Shelter, NEST Toddlers, CRAB, NorthLeaf Cooperative Preschool, Entre Hermanos, Sheltering Unhoused Neighbors in Western Washington, and I've created some Black Lives Matter art for a local Black owned business.
